The White Tigers Strike Again!

2009 ZooTeens

The summer of 2009 saw seventy-four ZooTeens volunteering at Nashville Zoo. In the months of June and July they drew visitors to various exhibits with animal “biofacts” and the knowledge and interpretive techniques they acquired during training sessions. Many of the teens returned from a previous season and thirty-two of those earned the privilege to assist keepers in animal care areas. New opportunities were available at Lorikeet Landing and Critter Encounters.

You may have spotted ZooTeens donning ‘blue shirts with the white tiger logo’ at the end of one of our shows, taking donations for the F.A.N.Z. Club to benefit the Nashville Crayfish project, or providing narrations for keepers demonstrating training and animal behavior. Get your teen involved next summer! 2010 applications available in January.
