Saturday Scouts

If spending the night at the Zoo does not fit your schedule, we offer scout programs during the day. Scouts learn about animals and our environment through games, crafts, and a live animal presentation.

Dates are limited.

Schedule

No Saturday Scout programs are offered in June and July due to summer camp.

Cost of Program

$10 per person, one free adult per 10 children

Min/Max: 10/20 - Minimum program fee $100 and includes admission to the Zoo.

Cancellation policy: 2 weeks notice prior to program date to receive a refund

TIGERS
#31 — Learn About Animals
Understand animals by learning about their characteristics, habitats, and behaviors.

#34 — Conservation
Our planet has a number of natural resources, such as water, gas, and oil. It is important for us to be careful how we use these resources because they could run out. Learn how you can make a difference.

#42 — Fun at the Zoo!
A trip to the Nashville Zoo! A great place to learn about our amazing animals.

#47 — Reduce, Reuse, And Recycle
When we recycle, we help our environment. Lots of items can be recycled, such as newspapers, aluminum and tin cans, cardboard, glass, and plastics. Learn how easy it is to recycle.

BEARS
Achievement #5 — Sharing your World with Wildlife
Every living creature has a place in this world, and there is room for all of us. All animals need clean water, food, air, and shelter to survive just like Cubs Scouts do.

Elective #24 — Native American Life
People already lived here when Columbus arrived. They were called Indians because Columbus thought he was near India. Today we refer to them as Native Americans. Learn more about Native American culture.

Outdoor Group
Naturalist
A naturalist studies living creatures and plants in the wild. Scouts will learn about native wildlife, with emphasis on the venomous reptiles and plants of Tennessee.

DAISY
Daisy Zoo Safari Fun Patch
Daisies will learn about the five different animal groups and their habitats.

JUNIOR
Earth Connection
Learn about ecology, the study of plants and animals including people, and their environment.

Plants and Animals
Learn how big a part plants and animals play in everyday life. From what we eat to what we wear, we depend on plants and animals everyday.

Your Outdoor Surroundings
Learn how to have fun outdoors from exploring nature to hiking, to protecting our environment.

Junior Wildlife
Learn about endangered species, how to help save them, and different wildlife careers. Girls will conduct scientific observations to learn how animals adapt to their habitats.

Local Lore
Every town has a story. Every town had people and events that helped make it what it is today. How much do you really know about Nashville, Tennessee?
Take a trip back to the 1800’s and discover the historical house located at the Nashville Zoo. Learn how Margaret and Elise Croft left the city of Nashville the gift of their family farm and their ancestral home, Grassmere, now called the Nashville Zoo at Grassmere. Program includes a tour of the house, the gardens, the family cemetery and the animal barn.

BROWNIE
Earth is our Home
Learn how earth is a home to people, plants and animals. Girls will learn how to make their home a better place.

Senses
You learn about your world in many ways. Seeing, hearing, feeling, smelling, and tasting are the five senses that send messages to your brain about the world around you. You use your senses all the time, even when you don’t know it!

Animals
Learn about animals in a zoo environment. Girls will learn how an animal's body helps it move around and survive.

Eco Explorers
Learn about ecology, the study of how plants and animals live together in the environment. Girls will learn about habitats, the food chain, and how to help wildlife.

CADETTE
Zoological
Learn about countries with endangered animals and what people are doing to help. Play a game to learn about products we use everyday that come from the rainforest. Learn what conservation projects the Nashville Zoo is participating in. Learn about different wildlife careers by role playing and meeting live animals.
