Sketch Safari

Sketch Safari is a “zoo-nique” opportunity to sketch the zoo’s African Elephants as our staff artist leads you in exercises that will help you learn drawing fundamentals, brush up on the basics, or hone your craft all while you learn about these majestic animals in an exotic setting. Sketch Safaris take place in an exclusive elephant viewing area called Botswana which is closed to the general public. Safaris include a chance to see one of our elephants do some art of their own!

Sketch Safaris are open to all levels of creativity ages 13 years and up. Participants must provide their own materials and are welcome to bring a portable easel, drawing pads, and any dry media such as pencils, pastels, pens and charcoal. Cameras are also welcome! Chairs, tables, and bottled water will be provided.
*Please note that there is no access to running water at Botswana. Fluid media is discouraged and oil/permanent fluids and solvents are prohibited.
