
The animals are celebrating Valentine’s Day with cricket-filled paper hearts, fruity gelatin treats and pink paper chains as part of the Zoo’s enrichment program.
The Feb. 14 keeper talk schedule is:
10 a.m. Hellbender in the Unseen New World
11 a.m. Red-crowned crane
11:30 a.m. Flamingo
12 p.m. Cougar
12:30 p.m. Snowy owls and goats at Critter Encounter
1 p.m. Silver-Laced Wyandotte chicken
2:30 p.m. Meerkats
3 p.m. Lynx
The Zoo uses daily enrichment to promote natural behaviors in the animals, ensuring optimal physical and mental health. Most animals will receive their sweet treats when they are let out on exhibit for the day while others will receive it during scheduled keeper talks.
