Why Fundraise for Nashville Zoo?

The Zoo helps children.
Our educators interact with thousands of children each year, providing a unique experience for all. They see firsthand how children respond to animals and further their own physical and social skills: children with limited motor skills walk to touch an animal, a feather or a bone, and children with speech and memory difficulties call out to an education animal using their name.

The Zoo gives families lasting memories.
A military wife recently came to the Zoo with her children and relayed a story of their family visiting the Zoo when her husband was on leave from military service overseas. Six months later, he was killed in action. The Zoo had provided this woman and her children some of the last irreplaceable memories of their husband and father.

The Zoo works on behalf of the Earth and environment.
Nashville Zoo is involved in conservation efforts here in Tennessee and around the world, efforts that work to maintain animal species and the Earth as we know it, so that generations to come - the descendants of our own families - can experience and enjoy animals, plants, trees, sunshine - all the great things our natural world has to offer.

Zoo Run Run 2013 celebrates the spring opening of Kangaroo Kickabout, our newest exhibit featuring a troop of kangaroos grazing and hopping about a lush environment where guests can experience them first-hand.

The ROO Crew is open to both Zoo Run Run registrants and anyone else who would like to help support Kangaroo Kickabout and Nashville Zoo.

How do you join?

Raise funds or donate at the levels below:

$100 – Registrant or donor receives:

  • Recognition on the Kangaroo Kickabout Donor Board at Zoo Run Run 2013
  • Recognition on the Zoo Run Run page of nashvillezoo.org.

(Gift is 100% tax deductible)

$250 – Registrant or donor receives:

  • 4 day passes to Nashville Zoo
  • Recognition on the Kangaroo Kickabout Donor Board at Zoo Run Run 2013
  • Recognition on the Zoo Run Run page of nashvillezoo.org

(Tax deductibility is $190; if passes are declined, gift is 100% tax deductible)

$500 – Registrant or donor receives:

  • 2 event tickets to Sunset Safari 2013, Nashville Zoo’s premier event featuring (open to guests 21 years of age and older)
  • 4 day passes to Nashville Zoo
  • Recognition on the Kangaroo Kickabout Donor Board at Zoo Run Run 2013
  • Recognition on the Zoo Run Run page of nashvillezoo.org

(Tax deductibility is $340; if tickets and passes are declined, gift is 100% tax deductible)

$1,000 – Registrant or donor receives:

  • 4 event tickets to Sunset Safari 2013, Nashville Zoo’s premier event featuring (open to guests 21 years of age and older)
  • 4 day passes to Nashville Zoo
  • Recognition on the Kangaroo Kickabout Donor Board at Zoo Run Run 2013
  • Recognition on the Zoo Run Run page of nashvillezoo.org

It’s easy and takes just a few steps:

  2. Select Zoo Run Run 2013 as your event.
  3. Click “Fundraise” in the green box.
  4. Login or create an account.
  5. Click next and personalize your own fundraising page by selecting images or background art or upload your own images!
  6. Begin fundraising by sending e-mails to friends and family. You can also share your fundraising page on Facebook or Twitter.
