Online registration is now closed. If you would like to register for this event, you have two options:

1. Come to the Zoo during one of the Early Packet Pickup times – Thursday, Jan. 21 and Friday, Jan. 22 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. OR 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. Please note: You will not be able to register at the Zoo on Thursday or Friday outside of these times.

2. Register at the Zoo on the day of the event, starting at 1:30 p.m. Please note the price change for day of event registration.

Unleash the beast and stick to those New Year’s resolutions with a little help from your animal friends at Nashville Zoo. Our annual run is a 5K route that will take you on a mad dash through the park. Whether you sprint, gallop, waddle, or crawl the Zoo Run Run is sure to bring out your inner animal!

DETAILS:
The Run will be officially timed by the Nashville Striders, so experienced runners are encouraged to join us! This is an actual 5K route; however, some of the course is off-road.

The "Run" is also a walk - we encourage families to bundle up, grab their strollers and come out to experience Nashville Zoo in wintertime!

A post-event celebration will take place at 4 p.m. Dinner will be served to participants, and spectators are welcome to purchase a meal for an $8 donation to the Zoo. Prizes will be awarded in each of these categories:

Masters Male/Female
Overall Male/Female
Age Groups from 10 and under up through 80+ (5 year increments) Male/Female

***The Zoo Run Run is a rain or shine event.***

The Zoo will close at 1 p.m. on January 23 for the Zoo Run Run.

EVENT DAY SCHEDULE:
Saturday, January 23, 2010
1 p.m. - Zoo closes to the public
1:30 p.m. - Late registration/check-in begins
3 p.m. - Race starts
4 p.m. - Post-race celebration (includes award presentation)

LOCATION:
The Zoo Run Run takes place on Nashville Zoo’s property and leads participants throughout the park and on the back of the property, winding through some undeveloped areas as well as public pathways. Be aware that several areas are gravel roads, dirt trails or otherwise unpaved paths.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION & PRICES:

• All registration sales for this event are final. Since this is a fundraising event, there are no refunds. The event will be held rain or shine.


• Children ages 4 and under are guests of the Zoo and should not be registered.


• Only those participants with paid registrations will receive an event t-shirt, shirts and sizes available on a first-come, first-served basis. If you would like your participating child age 4 or under to receive a t-shirt, you can either:
  1) pay the child age 5-12 registration fee and register your child
  OR
  2) Purchase a t-shirt, if there are extra available, on race day. Please note that limited Child & Adult sizes are available and the Zoo cannot guarantee that extra shirts will be available for purchase.


• Registration will close at 2,000 participants.

All proceeds benefit Nashville Zoo, a non-profit 501(c)3 organization.

Non-Zoo Member age 13+ - $28
Zoo member and non-member children (5-12) - $12
Add a Champion Chip from the Nashville Striders - $1.50 per registrant

Registering AFTER Friday, Dec. 18, 2009:
Zoo Member age 13+ - $35
Non-Zoo Member age 13+ - $38
Zoo member and non-member children (5-12) - $22

Race Day:
$45 per participant, 13+

NO CHAMPION CHIPS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR RACE DAY REGISTRANTS. Please pre-register through Friday, January 22nd to receive a Champion Chip. We apologize for any inconvenience.

*Tours are limited to four people, and children must be at least 3 years of age to attend. Tours per month are limited for the safety and exposure of our animal collection, and times and days are limited. Due to the unpredictability of working with wild animals and concerns of health and safety issues, all animal experiences are subject to the good physical and mental health of the animal collection.
