Campers in grades K-12 can join us for day camps full of Zoo favorites and new adventures! All camps incorporate animal trail exploration, games, art, WILD hands-on activities and up-close animal encounters.

*To add your camper to a waitlist, all registrants must create an account, and go through registration without payment. A follow-up email will be sent to the one provided in the account.

2023 Camp Offerings

Camps are now organized by grade level. Register campers for the grade level they will enter for the Fall 2023 school year. Campers must turn 5 years old by May 30, 2023. 

All camps run from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm each day, with before-care available starting at 7:30 am and after-care available until 5:30 pm for an extra fee

*Please note there are no camp programs for grades K-1 the week of June 20-23. 
Storybook Tails

Calling all animal story enthusiasts! Jump in tail first with special characters like the Lorax, Mowglie, Stellaluna and Paddington Bear as stories come to life at the Zoo.

Dr. Zoolittle

How do we care for animals at the zoo? Come walk with the animals, talk with the animals and get the chance to “ask” them yourself! Meet some amazing animals and learn about how we help them stay happy and healthy.

Minecraft: Zoo Edition

Bring Minecraft alive at the zoo! You won’t have to dodge Creepers, Endermen, or Piglins but you will get to collect items for your inventory, complete achievements, and design your own Minecraft character. Explore different biomes, the animals that live there, and how they relate to animals at Nashville Zoo and always remember, don’t dig straight down!

Zootastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

Did you know the Zoo is home to unicorns and dragons? With a little imagination, we can find all sorts of fantastic beasts around us! Learn how we take care of these magical creatures and discover what makes them Zootastic! Though we may not see a niffler or graphorn, we are sure to make Newt Scamander proud!

ZooQuest

The quest of the summer is here! The animal world is far more expansive than what meets the eye. Each day journey through a different element as we seek to explore and discover the connecting links of life. Adventure awaits, the quest is yours!

Zoovivor

It is a race against time to save your species from extinction and the wild can be a tricky place for animals to thrive! Through challenges, explore what it takes for animals to survive and learn a few survival skills of your own. Take on this adventure with your team to be the best Zoovivor!

Project GLOBE

Protecting our planet starts with us! Through this unique experience, explore how humans impact our changing world and learn about ways you can represent GLOBE (Grow, Learn and Observe to Better Earth) in your community. Behind-the-scenes tours, special animal encounters, hands-on activities and games encompass this one-of-a-kind experience!

Veterinary Camp

If you have an interest in a future career in veterinary medicine, this camp is designed for you! Get an inside view on what education paths and experiences it takes to become a zoo veterinarian, vet tech and other zoo and animal related careers. Campers also learn about the daily equipment used by our veterinarian department, safe animal restraint, participate in a parasitology lab, zoo animal nutrition, practice blow-darting and more. This camp takes place in Nashville Zoo’s state-of-the-art Animal Health Center.

Ages 7-12: Defenders of the Zooniverse Zooperheroes Camp *SOLD OUT
(Day camp for children with special needs)

Zooper Heroes Camp: Defenders of the Zooniverse

This is a day camp offered to children with special needs. Campers will meet animals in the classroom, visit exhibits throughout the Zoo, make crafts, and play games to connect information discussed in the classroom with the animal kingdom. 

Comic book heroes are not the only ones with superpowers! Don your imaginary capes as we explore defense mechanisms found throughout the Zooniverse. Quills, claws, and camouflage are no match for these predator villains!

Nashville Zoo has been working with Vanderbilt Kennedy Center's Treatment and Research Institute for Autism Spectrum Disorders (TRIAD) to form the structure of the camp. Supports will be included for campers throughout the day such as a visual schedule, visual supports, first/then boards, quiet areas, and choice boards.
