Nashville Zoo is certainly fortunate to benefit from the Walker family’s philanthropic support. Julie, Breck, Zach and Cord recently enjoyed a behind-the-scenes tour with Nashville Zoo President Rick Schwartz. Congo, our male giraffe, is always happy to share a lettuce snack with a friend!
Serving on the Executive Committee, Julie is a devoted member of our Nashville Zoo Board of Directors. As evidence of her tremendous commitment, she also Chairs the Board Governance and Building Committees. In this capacity, she leads our board’s development efforts, identifying and recruiting potential board candidates and providing policy and governance oversight. The Building Committee is responsible for our Zoo’s expansion, which includes construction of the Entry Village, and the Spider Monkey and Andean Bear Exhibits, as well as a new state-of-the-art veterinary hospital. Julie’s involvement is a tremendous asset to Nashville Zoo, and we’re extremely grateful for her dedicated service.
As members of the Zoo’s Claws, Paws, and Jaws Donor Society, the Walker’s contribution benefits our annual operations. Members of our Donor Society enable the Zoo to expand our capabilities to meet the needs of our growing animal collection and keep our property a safe and inviting destination. We look forward to sharing our appreciation with Julie and Breck and other members of our Donor Society at a reception later this month.
