Who qualifies as a School Group?
School group rates apply only to tax-exempt schools, preschools, year-round daycares, head start programs and organized home schools.
To qualify for the school group rate, each group must provide a copy of their school's tax-exempt form, have 20 or more students, and register and pay for their visit at least one week in advance.

Additional Add-ons
Enhance your visit to the Zoo by experiencing one of our in-park attractions. Nashville Zoo offers attraction tickets to school groups at a special discount rate of $1.50 per ticket (normally $2 per ticket).
- Lorikeet Landing Feeding Experience: 1 ticket *Currently closed*
- Soaring Eagle Zip Line: 4 tickets (Riders must be at least 42" tall)
- Wild Animal Carousel: 1 ticket (Riders must be at least 42" tall)
- Wilderness Express Train Ride: 1 ticket (Recommended for preschool-aged children) *Currently closed*
- Jungle Gym: Free Attraction (Middle and high school students on field trips are not permitted on the Jungle Gym) *Currently closed*
Activity Stations
Enhance your class field trip to the Zoo even more by participating in our field trip activity stations. Stations provide engaging activities that complement your curriculum and help inspire future conservationists. Activity stations are available between 10 am and 12 pm, March-May and August-November, with each day of the week focusing on a specific grade.
Field Trip Activity Stations are facilitated by Zoo education representatives. Dates and topics for each grade are listed below:
Grades K-1 (Senses/Basic Needs): Monday
Grades 2-4 (Biodiversity/Adaptations): Tuesday
Grades 5-8 (Endangered Species/Interdependence): Wednesday
Grades 9-12 (Conservation): Thursday
This is a free activity. Registration is not required, but please email education@nashvillezoo.org if you are interested in participating. Please note, activity stations are weather dependent.
Registration & Payment
Registration: Full payment is required at time of registration, at least one week prior to your visit. We recommend registering within a month of your visit.
Payment & Refund Policy: We accept credit cards and checks only. No refunds will be issued.
How to Register
If paying by credit card: Send an email to education@nashvillezoo.org (be sure to include your school name and a copy of your tax-exempt form) and our staff will send you a unique link you will use to register and pay for your group. You will receive a confirmation email with your receipt and chaperone tickets.
If paying by check: Generate a quote for your trip using this form (be sure to click "Print Form" at the bottom). Provide a copy to your finance/purchasing department, then mail a copy of your quote, tax-exempt form and check to the Zoo (see address below). Your check must be received at least one week prior to your visit.
